"War Game" has just been released on
DVD by the fine folks at Revelation Films,
and to celebrate, The Hound has five
copies to give away!

It's 1914, and Britain is at war. Around the
country young men heed the rallying call to
arms and pals Will, Freddie, Billy and Lacey
are amongst those who sign themselves away
to the trenches, unaware and unprepared for
the horrors that lie ahead. As their world
disintergrates around them, so a sliver of
solace is found on Christmas morning, when
for one remarkable moment friend and foe
put down their weapons and emerge from
the squalour to partake in a game
of football....

"War Game" is based on true events from the
First World War. It's an Illuminated Films
production, adapted from the award-winning
book by Michael Foreman. The film is
produced by Iain Harvey (When the Wind Blows), and directed by Dave Unwin (Father Christmas).

To enter the DVD draw, simply send us an

your full name and contact address, including postcode/zip.

The closing date for entries is Monday,

Illuminated's Iain Harvey previously produced When the Wind Blows, and "War Game" is built on a similar foundation. We watch as our young "heroes" progress from the golden fields of England, to the shock and awe of the trenches. This is, essentially, a childrens' film so the visuals are restrained, but by the end of our tale we are left in no doubt of the horror as we peer through black smoke and a wall of orange fire, before our friends are led "over the top", to dissolve into charcoal outlines, and in to history...
