There's
not a vampire zanier than Duckula...
Cosgrove Hall's classic creation has at last come to
DVD in his entirety, thanks
to Capital
Entertainment. They've put together a handsome package which
includes the first 26 episodes spread over three discs,
plus interviews with
Brian Cosgrove and John Doyle (senior producer/artist). Mike
Whaite gives
us a guide to drawing our favourite duck, and there's
an article concerning the
restoration of the show on disc. And what's more, although
this is a Region 1
American DVD release, the discs are actually Region 0, which
means they'll
play on most UK machines as well!
"Count Duckula: The Complete First Season"
was released on October 4th, and
Capital have constructed a
rather fine promotional site to accompany its
arrival, with downloads, an exclusive game, and more...

"He may hail from Transylvania, but Count Duckula
is a uniquely, ineptly
British creation. Our Count is supported
and hindered in equal amount by
his droll, dry manservant Igor and bumbling Nanny
who have stepped out
of Cosgrove Hall's top drawer of characters.
With its way-out storylines,
mutinous penguins, giant potatoes, and liberal
helpings of ketchup, it's
little wonder this vampire duck sunk his
teeth into a generation of eighties
schoolkids, who remain transfixed to this day!..."

THE
SMALL PRINT
Prizes
go to the first five entries drawn after the closing date.
Winners
agree to having their names and country of location included on this
web site.
Names
and addresses of entrants will not be disclosed to any third parties, or
used for
any marketing purposes.
The DVDs are identified as Region 1 discs, compatible with USA machines,
however
they also appear to play
as Region 0 discs on UK machines - which means
folks from both sides
of the Pond can enter the Giveaway!
Sorry,
but we can not replace faulty or incompatible discs.
