"Muffin
the Mule, Muffin the Mule..
He likes playing round, and acting the
fool..."
Muffin's
a clever old hoss. Any time there's a problem to solve or trouble
afoot,
he'll put on his Thinking Cap and conjure up an
answer. And that's a handy skill
to have when you've friends like his. Oswald
the Ostrich, Louise the Lamb, Peter
the Pup, Peregrine the Penguin, Willie the
Worm, Doris and Morris Mouse,
Monty the Monkey and Grace the cat are forever
in a muddle, losing belongings
and puzzling over predicaments. Most of the
gang are more than happy for Muffin
to help save their day, but pompous Peregrine rather
likes to think he's Muffin's
equal. Alas, though, his overblown efforts usually
end up causing still more
confusion for our favourite mule to unmuddle. Goodness,
where would they
be without him?
Yes, Muffin's back, only he's lost his strings
for this animated show. And
he's gained his own voice. Likewise, his pals.
What's more, after 60 years,
Muffin has finally been allowed off his piano,
out of the studio and into the
countryside. He now wanders the hills and vales
of Muffinham, where he
ponders and postulates beneath sunny blue skies...
Muffin's been animated by the crew at Blue Fish
Cartoons, under the direction of
Maverick Entertainment. It's the same relationship
they shared on those Snailsbury Tales.
Though the show may be modern, there's an old-fashioned
feel to the production, with its simple stories
unfolding to the accompaniment
of a clippety-clop soundtrack.
Martin Yaffe International, Falcon Games,
Fun2Learn and Future Publishing
all have Muffin licensing deals. And
currently, that old hoss is the face
of the children’s menu at BB’s Coffee and
Muffin stores!
