An all-new version of John Ryan's classic
nautical creation. Steering the ship this
time has been the firm production hand of Britt
Allcroft, of "Teletubbies" mega-
success. The new shows have been generated on
computers at John Cary Studios
in London, using Animo software - a far cry from
the hand-manipulated "caption"
cut-outs used to make the original shows.
That said, the look and feel of the series
has remained faithful to those original
captions, the producers merely having fleshed
out the depth and movement of the
characters and the locations they appear
in. James Saxon has taken on the voice
of the Captain now, and it's jolly tricky
separating him from Peter Hawkins. The
memorable "diddly-diddly" theme tune
is also present and correct (well really, did
you actually think this might be dropped?).
Producer John Cary is an ever-busy chap.
He has been working in the animation
industry for over thirty years, animating, editing,
producing and consulting on
numerous productions, committees and panels....
