  Krazy characters and strips...

Hey Presto! - It's Ray Presto!

Ray was a kid magician who roamed around Krazy town
with his bag of magic tricks, solving problems, manipulating
events, and performing good deeds. He never set out to
cause mischief but his tricks would frequently go awry
and land him in hot water, only to reveal some fateful
twist which - Hey presto! - would set everything to
    rights once more...

    Ray gets his magician's gear!

The origins behind Ray's magical "leanings" are strange.
His magic set with hat, wand, cape and gloves was actually
a birthday gift from his parents. But the present was sent
through the post to Ray at home, and we never actually
saw or heard from Ray's parents in that original strip.

So where was Ray supposed to be? Was he at a relative's
house? With friends? In care? - We were never told.

Trivia Hounds may note that Ray's infrequent nemesis was
beefy Bully Burrows, whom Ray despatches in the first issue
of Krazy and whom he occasionally bumped into again in
later strips - all of which were drawn by the multi-talented
    Dick Millington...
